CHRIBTCHURCH TRAMWAYS t I OPERATING EXPENSES HIGHER (By Telegraph.—press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, Saturday A deficiency of £21,583 is shown In the Christchurch Tramways | Board's revenue account for the past financial year. This figure shows an increase of £1325 over the previous yearly return. The earnings from the operation of the service iotalled £218.384, an increase of £ 18.927. Operating expenses were £164,169, the increase in tiiis case being £16,592- Standing charges amounting to £75,798 mainly accounted for the deficiency. The loan liability was reduced to £23,000 during the year.
