MORRINSVILLE MARKET BEEF IN KEEN REQUEST Indicative of the facial eczema epidemic, the market at the weekly Morriruville stock sale yesterday was bare of sheep, the sale being in marked contrast to those a few weeks ago when full sheep entries were being penned. Lighter to average entries were forward in the other sections, the entry in the pig section being the smallest for sorhe weeks. A keen demand was shown for beef and all classes were traded readily at sometimes advanced values. Prime beef, particularly, was in keen request, good cows and heifers being traded from £8 to £9 12s. Other sorts were not difficult to quit at prices ranging from £4 10s to £7 10s, while an Increased demand was also shown fJr boners, which were dearer than for some weeks. There was a keen Inquiry for dairy heifers, which were fully firm at laie rates. Brisk competition ruled throughout the sale of pigs, both baconers and porkers being ready of sale at fully late rates with baconers selling to 87s. Limited, report on their weekly Morrlnsville stork sale held yesterday:—A full yarding of all classes of rattle was penned, the entry including a good proportion of finished rattle. One truck of prime Polled Angus cows from Mr. \V. J. Orr, of Motumaoho, reached £9 12s. There was strong competition for all classes and prices generally showed an improvement. A large entry of boner cattle maintained recent values, whilst a smaller offering of bulls showed no alteration on late rates. There was a full yarding of fat pigs and a good entry of stores and weaners. In the fat section, the yarding comprised mostly porkers which sold In advance of last week's rates. For a small offering of baconers competition was keen and prices showed a slight improvement. A large bench of buyers operating In the store section caused values to firm. There were no sheep yarded.
