FARMERS’ UNION ADDRESBED FORM OF YELLOW JAUNDICE An address on the incidence of facial eczema In the Waikato was delivered at the monthly meeting of the Waikato sub-Provincial executive of the Farmers’ Union by Mr. G. W. Seaton, of Cambridge. llis experience with the disease over the last 20 years was detailed J>v the speaker, who described the disease as a form of yellow jaundice. The root of the trouble he attributed to ergot poisoning from hay. The poison affected the animal’s liver and then traveled through the bloodstream. Preventive measures should be considered before curatives, continued Mr. Seaton, who claimed to have arrived at a solution to the trouble. The speaker Invited the members of the Farmers’ Union to call a meeting to discuss the trouble in an endeavour to find a definite course of action. The speaker was accorded a vote of thanks.
