THEATRICAL INTERESTS
J. O. WILLIAMSON, LIMITED MR BEAUMONT SMITH RESIGNS (By Telegraph-—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Thursday It is announced that Mr F. Beaumont Smith, founder and managing director of the J. C. Williamson Picture Corporation, Limited, has disposed of his shareholding interest in the company and to-day resigned the position of managing director. However, at the request of the company he has consented to act in a consultative and advisory capacity for a minimum of two years, principally in Australia, although he will make periodical trips to New Zealand. Mr John H. Mason will succeed Mr Smith as managing director, and J. C. Williamson, Limited, will retain its controlling interest in the company, with Messrs John and E- J. Tail as directors.
