The Garden Place Preservation Society respectfully urge Electors to vote for the following candidates:— MESSRS. BEAGLEY. DILLICAR. GATE, MARFELL. SEYMOUR, ROLFE AND TRELOAR. The Society recommends with confidence these Candidates as they will uphold the principles of democracy by honouring the Vote of Rate-payers taken last year on the Garden Place Issue. This will allow the prosecution of the larger and much more Important work of lowering the Railway Line as it is obvious that the Town cannot i undertake the cost of the two schemes together. The lowering of the Line is of supreme Importance for it will not only eliminate several level crossings, but will also overcome the traffic problems of the Town. The above Candidates will advocate careful and progressive Borough control. A Public Meeting will be held on MONDAY NEXT, the 9th inst.. In the Methodist Hall, London Street at 8 p.m. Several Candidates will speak and questions will be answered. 93
