SHOOTING FATALITY FARMER BLEEDS TO DEATH (special to Times.) AUCKLAND. Friday Mr James Albert farmer, of Mangamuka. married, was fatally shot while pheasant shooting yesterday. As he did not return home a search was Instituted, and his body was found w-fth a gunshot wound in ‘the leg. It la presumed he bled to death. COLLISION AT POKENO BUTCHER SENT TO HOSPITAL AUCKLAND, Friday Mr W. J, Deeble (72;, butcher, of Tuakau. is In hospital as the result of a double collision on the Great South Highway near Pokeno. Mr Deeble was driving a large meat delivery van down the old road toward Pokeno. As it reached the intersection It was struck by a large car proceeding south along the highway, I and driven by Mr Norman Pulman. ! A car coming north was unable to ! stop in time to avoid them and hit Mr * Deeble s car slightly. This car was ; driven by Mr K. Costello, of Pukekohe. FALL FROM FERRY BOAT AUCKLAND, Friday Mr Oliver G. Goldsmith (70> fell when boarding a ferry boat at Auckland yesterday and his foot catching ; in an obstruction, his head and shoul- ; ders were immersed in the water for some moments before he could be released. He suffered concussion and shock but his condition is not considered serious.
