Lancashire. —Essex, first innings, 275 (Every 82); second innings, 9 for 219 declared. Lancashire, first innings, 108 (Nichols 4 for 42, P. Smith 4 for 25) ; second Innings, 84 (Nichols 5 for 40, P. Smith 5 for 14). Essex won by 302 runs. Yorkshire v. Sussex. —Yorkshire, first innings, 457 (Hutton 87, Leyland 101). Sussex, first innings, 198 (Verity 8 for 80). Following on they made 143 (Verity 6 for 52). Yorkshire won by an innings and 116 runs. Somersetshire v. Worcestershire.— Somersetshire, first innings, 248 (Lee 122); second innings, 112 (Jackson 6 for 38). Worcestershire, first Innings, 127 (Hazel 5 for 25) ; second innings, 197 (Andrews 7 for 57). Somersetshire won by 36 runs. Hampshire v Northamptonshire.— Hampshire, first innings, 371 (Pothecary 79). Northamptonshire, first Innings, 105 (Herman 4 for 29). Following on they made 133. Hampshire won by an innings and 133 runs. Derbyshire v. Leicestershire.— Derbyshire, first innings, 213 (Flamson 6 for 50) ; second innings, 8 for 320 declared (A. Pope 86). Leicestershire, first innings, 108; second innings, 393 (Prentice 131). Derbyshire' won by 32 runs. Nottinghamshire v Middlesex.— Nottinghamshire, first Innings, 316 (Owen-Smith 5 for 91) ; second innings, 6 for 447 (Hardstaff 243). Middlesex, first innings, 9 for 525 declared (Price 104, Hendren 129, Compton 111). Middlesex won on the first Innings.
