MISSION FUNDS

WAIKATO DIOCESE QUOTA APPEAL BY THE BISHOP The Diocese of Waikato has reached £613 towards its quota of £990 for missionary contributions, according to an announcement by the Bishop, the Rt. Rev. C. A. Cherrington, in the Diocesan Magazine. “we are very gratified with our real improvement. But we must go further and not rest content till we are able to do as well as the other dioceses in New Zealand and either meet out quota in full or exceed it,” said the Bishop. “ The annual meeting of the Board of Missions has just been held and we want to begin right away by prayer and work, by boxes and sales, by exhibitions and collecting to get the sum we are asked for by next June. I know it is a large sum, nearly £1000; and with our other commitments many of us think that'it is beyond our power. I do not think it will prove so, if we have In our minds from the beginning the amount our parish is asked for. We cannot go ourselves to the mission field, but at least by prayer and offerings we can support those who do,” he added.
