RECURRENCE OF STRIKES FATAL CLASHES WITH POLIOE WOMEN STRIPPED AND PELTED United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. (Received Aug. 28, 11.20 a.m.) NEW YORK, Aug. 27 A message from Port Louis states that there has been a recrudescence of the strikes at the sugar mills. The rioters have moved to the southern districts, setting fire to the oaneflelds and Indians’ huts and terrorising the factory hands into quitting work. Several rioters were killed In clashes with the police. The planters have requested the Government to take prompt and sterner measures, and troops are standing by. A message from Schnectady states that clothes were stripped from two women strike-breakers when they were attempting to pass the picket lines surrounding a knitting factory, and they were compelled to walk several blocks naked, while the strikers pelted them with tomatoes.
