A MYSTERY GOLFER
INVOLVED IN A HOLD-UP GREAT INTEREST IN HOLLYWOOD nl:ed Pross Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright NEW YORK. August 26 A me'ssage from Elizabethtown, New York State, says that 400 spectators, including the film actor Olto Kruger, who packed the tiny courtroom, heard the Judge grant bail of £SOOO to John Montague, the Hollywood mystery golfer, who was extradited by the police. It is alleged that he is identical with a man involved some years ago in a hold-up. Although tlie district attorney vigorously opposed bail, the Judge said Montague resembled Jean Valjean, the hero of “ Les Miserables.” It appeared that he had remade his life and become a useful, respected and distinguished citizen, and had worked out a complete reformation. Montague later dined with Mr Kruger, after which he left for Syracuse, to attend the bedside of his ailing mother
