HORSEHAIR IN LAUNDRY
A roughly formed ball of horsehair will be found a valuable help in scrubbing soiled clothing, and while it is not hard on better class materials. such as blue or cream serge, it will make them look like new, while it will also be found most helpful In removing dirt from ordinary hard wearing fabrics. On washing day, slice a piece of soap into a tub of warm water, add half a packet of good soap flakes or powder, put the trousers in and let soak for ten minifies. Take the garments out one at a time, spread on a bench and with Llle ball of horsehair rub the trousers all over with it, using soap with the hair-ball. The dirt will soon be loosened. Put the trousers back In the tub till all are washed, then wring out and rinse in warm water. If washed in this way, there is no need to boll the blue shorts. The ball is specially handy for cleaning round the pockets.
