FANCY DRESS BALL

ANNUAL MATANGI FUNCTION. GAY EVENING SPENT The Matangi hall was filled to capacity recently, the occasion being the children’s annual fancy dress ball, organised by the members of the St David’s Guild. The hall was gaily decorated with green and white .streamers, greenery and ferns arranged about the walls, making a charming background for the colourful and varied costumes of the children.

Excellent music was played by Clayton’s dance band, with an extra by Miss M. Shaw. Mr C. Johns was M.G. Early in the evening the children began a varied programme of dances, commencing with the grand march which was a feature of the evening's entertainment, with the Ifcrge number of children in fancy costume taking part. Highland and fancy dances, glve'n by Pat Russell, Valerie Russell, Bruce M<--Clennan, Jill Masters and June Powdrill of Eureka were very much enjoyed. A delicious supper was served to the children, the floor then being avMUblc for the adults. An enjoyable evening concluded with a dance. Among the children in rancy CoSt nJTni wcre - Mlc.
