Min. Thursday TO 50 Friday 64 45 Mean Temperature, 54.5 deg. The barometer has risen rapidly since last reading and is steady at 30.10. Generally fair weather is indicated today and to-morrow, with mild temperatures, southwest winds prevailing and cold nights. The Rainfall Rainfall for 24 hours ended 9 o’clock this morning, .OOln. Rainfall for previous 24 hours, .Oiin. Rainfall for August to date, 2.07in. Average rainfall for August, 3.96in. Rainfall for year to date, 29.59 m. Average yearly rainfall, 46.32in. BPECIAL FOREOABT. (By Govt. Meteorologist). The special forecast by the Government Meteorologist covering the WaikatoThames Valley is as follows: Forecast: Light to moderate southerly to easterly winds. Weather fair. Temperatures cold with some sharp frosts. Seas slight to moderate. General Inference: The recent shallow depression has disappeared eastwards and pressure is now r rising overthe‘ Dominion with the approach of an anti-cyclone across the Tasman Sea.
