WORKMAN BURIED.

FATAL FALL OF EARTH (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) NELSON, Thursday. As 1 lie result of Injuries received when buried by a fall of earth during road building operations in Cobb Valley, Mr Allan Ross (30), single, died yesterday afternoon. A charge brought down a quantity of debris. While the roadway was being cleared a slip occurred, Mr Ross being buried. Workmen immediately dug him out, but found lie was unconscious, with his legs and body badly crushed. A doctor was sent for while Moss was carried down the valley two miles to Sam’s Creek, but he expired prior to the doctor's arrival. Deceased's relatives live in England.
