(To the Editor.) Sir. —Mr Mazengarb’s statement that the present Government has up to date appointed 4000 inspectors, etc. (all of the right political colour, we may assume), puts me in mind of a statement I saw some years ago. The Soviet Government appointed a coinmlsison to Investigate factory conditions, methods and output. At that time the union's ran the factories. The commission reported that it found in one factory 1400 men working under the supervision of lluQ bosses. We seem to be in for something like that in New Zealand. —I am, etc..
