ANNUAL MEETING HELD GARDEN PLACE REMOVAL “Fresh attempts are now being made to take another poll on the removal of Garden Place Mill, this time over a special rating area, but your committee, acting in conjunction with the Garden Place Preservation Society, are fully alive to what is going on and we are watching your interest in Wellington. Delegates were sent to Wellington before and. will be sent again if necessary.” stated the annual report of the Frankton Citizens’ Association, adopted at the annual meeting of the Association held in Frankton Town Hall last evening. The report, which was presented by the retiring president, Mr P. Allsop, claimed that the efforts of the Association had played a large part in securing the defeat at the poll of the first scheme for the removal of the hill. The report also claims credit for the Association in the matter of reductions secured In electricity charges in Hamilton borough. “We ‘feel that in this matter alone, "the report states, “our Association has Justified its existence.” Eleotlon of Officers. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—Patron, Mr <3. A. Barrell, M.P.; president, Mr J, S. Anchor; secretary-treasurer, Mr R. Kilham. On the motion of Mr C. Lafferty the retiring members of the executive committee were re-elected en bloc.
