WICKETS FALL FAST.

KENT DISMISSED FOR 321 DOMINION BOWLERS ON TOP NEW ZEALAND'S SECOND INNINGS (From the Special Correspondent of the United Press Association with the team). (Received August 27, 11 a.m.) CANTERBURY, August 26. Kent’s wickets in their first innings against the New Zealand cricketers fell fast, when the match was resumed at Canterbury to-day. After scoring 213 for two wickets yesterday, the county carried its score to 321 to-day when the whole side was out. New Zealand, who scored 186 in their first innings, have' lost six wickets for 266 runs in their second venture. With Cowie in the best of form Kent found runs much harder to obtain to-day when eight wickets fell in an hour, not because the batsmen were taking risks but because the bowling was really good. Cowie maintained a steady length with good pace and was always menacing. His analysis to-day provides accurate reflection of his merit, eleven overs, three maidens, 38 runs, four wickets. Roberts took the last two wickets In quick succession. Brilliant Opening. New Zealand brilliantly opened their second innings with Vivian and Hadlee scoring nearly two runs a minute, both playing freely in front of the wicket. Three wickets were lost quickly. Thereupon the batsmen forfeited aggression for caution. Moloney and Kerr slowly but surely advanced the score till the latter was brilliantly run out as the’ result of smart fielding by Chapman. Moloney and Tindill, baiting with determination, added 92 runs. Moloney was patience personified, hitting 36 singles in a half-century, which took over two hours. Tindill Workmanlike

Tindill, staying nearly an hour and a-half, was a workmanlike' helpmate, In a valuable partnership. The wicketkeeper, since the match against Essex, has batted more like his usual form in New Zealand. Moloney played another resolute Innings at a critical time. He batted just over three hours and hit five fours. Although he scored slowly, he never appeared troubled.
