OTOROHANGA NEWS.

QUEEN CARNIVAL DANCE. The Regent Theatre, Otorohanga, was comfortably filled on the occasion of the opening dance of the Otorohanga Domain Improvement Executive, who are running a Queen carnival to raise money for extensive Improvements to the Domain grounds. Excellent muslo was played and a delicious supper was served, under the direction of Mrs Harry Perry. During an Interval the chairman of the Domain Executive Committee', Mr V. Fairbrother, Introduced the Queens, who were warmly received by their respective supporters. The Queens were: Miss Zelda Symos (men's hockey Queen), wearing blue angelskln; Miss Phyllis Clark (ladies’ hockey Queen)/ pink taffeta; Miss Florrie Holmes (cricket Queen), red velvet. The dance was a marked success. a r»» BRIDGE AND FIVE HUNDRED To aid the candidature’ of the cricket Queen. In the Domain Queen Carnival, a largely-attended bridge and 500 evening was held in the Regent Rooms on Monday evening. Mrs R.F. Park and Mr L. Stamp were the successful players at 500, while Mrs Charles Knox and Mr Snowden won the principal bridge honours. It is proposed to run similar functions each week and to award points prizes at the conclusion of the series.
