RESTITUTION ORDERS
PETITIONS GRANTED 28 DAYS FOR COMPLIANCE Two orders for tlie restitution of conjugal rights were made by Mr Justice Callan in the Supreme Court, Hamilton, to-day, the respondent in each case being allowed 28 days in which to comply with the order. Nancy Cranswick Nellie Neal (Mr \V. J. 'King) was granted a restitution order’ against William Fletcher Neal. In evidence, petitioner stated that she married respondent in January, 1933. There had been no children. Following their marriage, the couple had gone on a honeymoon trip to England. On their return to New Zealand they had lived in Hamilton, Thames and Auckland.' Later they had gone to the United States, partly on business, partly for a pleasure trip. Petitioner had returned, with her husband’s permission, to New Zealand in August, 1936, respondent then intending to go from the United States to South Africa on business. His letters to petitioner had become casual about this time and when he returned to New Zealand in July last he did not go to see petitioner. She later met him in Auckland but he refused io return to her. •Corroborative evidence was given by the petitioner’s mother and His Honour granted an order for restituFarmer Granted Order An order for restitution of conjugal rights were also granted George William Keir Bowen (Mr W. J. King), a farmer, of Huntly, against Edith Mary Bowen. Petitioner stated that he was born in Derbyshire, and came to New Zealand in 1913. He married respondent in May last. He had been engaged to respondent six years ago but she had broken off the engagement. Respondent had, however, returned to him and told him that she was an expectant mother, another man being responsible. Petitioner had been genuinely fond of her and had married her. She remained with him for only a month, however, during which time she had spent two week-ends away from him. lie had written asking her to return and lie still wanted her back. Evidence for petitioner was given by I Elias Low, farmer of llunlly, and I neighbour of petitioner.
