Rainfall for year to date, 29.551 n. Average yearly rainfall, 46.32in. SPECIAL FORECAST. (By Govt. Meteorologist). The special forecast by the Government Meteorologist covering the WaikatoThames Valley is as follows: Forecast: Moderate to strong north-east to easterly winds. Weather dull and misty with rain, heavy In places. Seas rather rough to rough. General Inference: An anticyclone, situated east of the South Island, is moving away and a depression of moderate Intensity covers the eastern Tasman Sea and New Zealand, its centre being west of the Auckland Peninsula.
