SPINSTER’S SUICIDE
WORRIED OVER CATS (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Wednesday Worry over having to leave an old building, which had long been her home, and thus lose the companionship of a number of cats she had gathered about her as pets, is considered by a social worker to be the reason why Agnes Inkster (7,0), a spinster, committed suicide yesterday. She was found dead in the house with a gas tube in her mouth. The social worker said that early in the month Miss Inkster received notice that the house was to be demolished. She had a large' number of cats as pets and only these were her c companions. She was greatly worried as to what would become of them. She was an oldage pensioner and a native' of Shetland Island. It Is not known whether she had any relatives in New Zealand. A verdict of suicide by gas poisoninfir was returned hv Mr F. K. Hunt.
