INFANTILE PARALYSIS
PREVENTION OF SPREAD LEGISLATION IN AUSTRALIA DEATH IN NEW SOUTH WALES United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. (Received Aug. 25, 1 p.m.) SYDNEY, Aug. 25 A bill designed to prevent the spread of infantile *paralysis to New South Wales passed all stages In the Legislative Assembly. It provides for the amendment of the Public Health Act, and persons may by proclamation bo prevented from leaving an infected, area. The first death from infantile paralysis in New South Wales this year occurred at Goff's Harbour, the victim being a farmer aged 57 years.
CASE IN MARLBOROUGH (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) BLENHEIM, Wednesday A boy (15) has been admitted to the Wairau Hospital suspected of suffering from infantile paralysis, and has since been diagnosed positive. The patient is a resident of Mahakipawa. This is the second case in this territory since the original outbreak.
