TE MATA BRANCH.
The “Black and White Dandles,” of Hamilton, visited Te Mata recently, when they presented a varied programme to a large and appreciative audience. The party were given a welcome by the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union. The first, half of the programme consisted of musical items by the party, solos and duets, and tap and fancy dances. The second half was devoted to short sketches, the whole programme being well received. Community singing was also enjoyed.
At the conclusion of the concert, the president of the Division thanked the performers and all attending. Supper was served by the Division and was followed by a dance. Mr G. Stephenson, jnr., was M.G., music being played by a member of the Dandies and Messrs J. Munns and I. Gilmour.
Half the proceeds for the evening went to the Te Mata branch of the Division.
CAMBRIDGE BRANCH.
The Cambridge branch of the Women’s Division meeting -was held recently In Hie Oddfellows’ Hall, Miss 0. Marshall presiding. The meeting opened with the recital of Hie creed, and correspondence
Miss Marshall gave a very fine report of her visit, to the correspondence school’s headquarters while in Wellington for conference, and said that one girl who had only one year at the University had obtained her B-A., all her schooling being by correspondence. Mrs Cooper gave a comprehensive report of the South Auckland provincial council meeting A flower-show will be held at Hie September meeting: i, Novice class, a posy; 2, dinner table bowl of flowers; 3, six spring flowers (two of each); 4, box of flowers. Tlie hostesses for aflernoon tea were Mesdames Erb, Campin and Cooper.
OHAUPO BRANCH.
Fifteen members and several visitors were present at iho August meeting of tho Ohaupo branch of the Women’s Division. After the recital of the creed the president gave a brief report on the provincial executive meeting, and arrangements for the coming birthday were completed. Mrs Elliott was successful in Iho monthly flower competition, while exquisite work secured first prize for Mrs Vickers for I lie best jug-cover. Mrs Catelev was accorded thanks for an amusing recitation, and the roll-call, ••Where I met, my husband,” provided an amusing interlude. Hearty thanks were accorded Mrs Mclntosh, of Xgahinapnuri. for her interesting report, on Hie late conference in Wellington. An.able speaker. Mrs Mclntosh touched on the achievements and undertakings or the Women’s Division, and left members inspired with the incentive lu "do their bit.”
