THE LITTLE PRINCESSES. EXPERIENCE OF HOUSEKEEPING. FOLLOWING AN OLD CUSTOM. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyrignt. LONDON, Aug. 23. Princess Elizabeth and Margaret Rose are having their first experience of housekeeping during their visit to Balmoral Castle. In accordance with the old custom that children do not stay at Balmoral Castle, the Princesses and their governess are living in the picturesque garden cottage within sight of the castle walls. They are taking an active part in the running of the cottage, being shown every detail of the work which makes for the successful management of a home. When they entertain they supervise the menu and plan the amusements for the guests. Prinoess Margaret’s Birthday. Putting back the time to go to bed for half an hour until 6.30, and a gift bicycle from her father were the most exciting events on Princess Margaret Rose's seventh birthday. The King had long promised the Princess a bicycle. It was her first birthday not spent at Glamls Castle with her grandparents, the Earl and Countess of Strathmore. A pink and white cake, with seven candles, ana chocolate trifle were at the birthday party.
Aoted for the Films. Princess Margaret Rose can say that she has acted for the films. The King often takes “shorts” of the children playing in the garden, but recently he filmed a play, Inspired by Princess Margaret Rose, in which the comedy role is sustained by the authoress.
