The American, Serge Varoof, won the pole vault, at the Anglo-Frenoh-Amerlcan athletic display at the Colombes Stadium with a leap of 12ft. 9 Jins. The negro. Gorney Johnson, won the high Jump with 6ft. 2Jins. He participated with the negro, Ben Johnson, in the French-Amerlcan relay race, In which the Americans were victorious. Johnson, who was the star of the meeting, won the 100 metres in 10 1-5 seconds, a world’s record, and also the 200 metres in 20.8 seconds, a track record. An Englishman. Finlay, won the 110 metres hurdles in 14 1-5 seconds, a European record.
