CLAY BIRD SHOOTING. NORTH ISLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS. MORRINSVILLE, Monday. The North Island clay bird shooting championships were opened at Morrinsville to-day in good weather when about 30 shooters were present. Opening results are as follows: North Island Sparrow Championship, of 17 birds from 21 yards.—M. Pratt (Otorohanga) and R. Symons (Taihape), each shot 16 birds and Pratt won on the shoot-otT. H. Clinch l National Park), * Ormond (.Gisborne) and J. Malcolm (Huntiy) were equal for third place with 16 birds each. They divided the third and fourth money. Sparrow Sweepstake, of four birds. E. Groom (Hawke’s Bay), R. E. Cuthbertson (Wanganui), F. L. Joblon (Morere), J. Dobson (Hamilton), M. Pratt (Otoorhanga3, R. Crosbie (Cambridge), J. Ormand (Rotorua), W. Oates (Tokomaru Bay and J. Duncan (Taihape), all shot the possible and divided* INFANTILE PARALYSIS. SEVERAL STILL AFFECTED. WAIKATO HOSPITAL PATIENTS. Although a large number of patients have been discharged from the WalKato Hospital many are still inmates of that institution or some other, according to a statement made by the Medical Health Officer in Hamilton, Dr. H. B. Turbott, to-day. A good many were likely to be there for some time. Those victims who were still suffering from the effects of the complaint yvere being treated with hot water massages. The results are reported to be very gratifying. Dr. Turbott said that the original epidemic had ended although a few isolatod cases had occurred. A hot summer might revive the paralysis trouble.
