WANDERERB BEAT HUNTLY. ADVANTAGE IN FINAL STAGES. UNINTERESTING FIRST HALF. With a four goals to two victory over Huntly-Starr at Seddon Park on Saturday, Hamilton Wanderers, now lead in the Ansell Cup. Up to the final ten minutes the game was very patchy but Wanderers 'then staged a recovery and pulled the game, out of the fire- Right throughout the first spell and during the greater part of the second, Huntly infused far more dash into their play than Wanderers, who however, came to light at the most opportune moment. The credit for Wanderers’ win was well divided but D. Crabb, at leftoutside, played useful football throughout, besides scoring a well-merited goal. McCall was again patchy but deserved full credit for his scoring effort. In the backs, McLean was as safe as usual and Webster got through a solid day with few mistakes. Huntly had a useful forward In Deakin. while Rassick was the best, half-hack on the ground. A. Hall maintained his reputation as one of the soundest fullbacks in South Auckland and his defence was never under suspicion. The teams were:— Wanderers. —Webster.
