RACES AT NEWPORT. RANGER BEATS THE ENDEAVOUR. United Press Assn.—Llec. Tel. Copyrlg-h NEW YORK, August 19. Contending over the first leg, of 37 miles, of a race at Newport, under thauspices of the New York Yacht Club the competitors finished in the follow ing order: Yankee, Ranger, Rainbow Endeavour I, and Endeavour 11. In a race for the Astor Cup (24.; miles) the yachts finished in the fol lowing order: Ranger, Endeavour 11 Rainboxv, Endeavour I, Yankee. A telegram from Mattapoisett, Mas sachusetts, states that Ranger, Endea vour I, Endeavour 11, and Rainbow, fin ished there in that order In the Nev York Yacht Club’s cruise of 32 miles Yankee withdrew.
