Thomson, drew lo the lead on top or the bill the last time and came on to win easily Evermore. Jolly Bronev, Starlta and rreclse were prominent early. Jolly Broney soon taking command and establishing a two-lengths’ lead racing up the hill the first time, where Gay Cavalier, Evermore. Day Boy and Ilozel were in that order. Over the double. Day Boy had a slight advantage over Lochlel Lad and Evermore, but the leader Tell at the second fence nr the double. This lert Evermore In the lead and along the back he was showing the wav to Lochlel Lad. Right Royal. Rozel. Royal Chips, and Adsurn. Lochlel Lad had headed Evermore as they negotiated the hill the last time. Jolly Broney railing at the rence by tbe nve-Turlong post and Interfering with Right Royal, who was pulled up. Lochlel Lad wa~ clear or the field at the straight entrance and went on to win decisively by four lengths from Rozel. who beat Adsum by two lengths. JOCKEY INJURED.
HAMILTON RIDER. (By Telegrarh-—From “ Martian.”) AUCKLAND. Saturday. The Hamilton horseman, J. Muir, had a miraculous escape from serious Injury when riding In the Harris Memorial Hack and Hunters’ Hurdle Race at the Pakuranga Hunt Club s meeting at Ktlerslie to-day. His mount, L’Allegro, fell at the fence in front of the grandstands and he was thrown near the rails. On rising, he was immediately hit by a. following horse and knocked hack against the rails. He was carried off tin* course unconscious but it was later learned that tie had escaped with minor concussion ouly. Muir was able to resume riding
