Three earthquake shocks, described as the most serious for years, rocked the city and surrounding country and disrupted the telephone and power services In some sections. Walls of buildings were crac.ked and water mains burst. It Is believed there were no casualties. The shocks occurred an hour after the arrival of a ship with refugees from Shanghai.
