Jennings, Federal member of the House of Representatives for ■ Watson, who passed through Suva today, en route to Sydney by ihe Niagara, said the Union Company’s ships on the Pacific were fighting against Impossible odds. The question was prominent In recent London discussions and it seemed as if effective action would be taken now to restore British prestige. The new liners for the Pacific would he well In advance of any now on that run and must attract an increasing tourist traillc. Mr Jennings said he also in vest 1galed tourist matters. Industrial activity ami technology. 11was particularly interested in methods of attracting . people to beaches.
