“ IMPROVING ” SHAKESPEARE. Georgy Bernard Shaw has written a fifth act to one. of Shakespeare’s plays—he will not say which play. He says: “You need not alter Shakespeare’s first acts, but sometimes at the end one thinks it over.” Asked what he would say if anyone suggested altering one of his own plays, Shaw said: “Bless you. it lias been done. There have been attempts in Pygmalion.’ to try to represent the professor as being In love with tlie girl a most horrible Idea.’’
