RECORD HOLDERS.

“ TOTARA PARK ” CHAMPIONB. PRODUCTION OF 700 LB. FAT. A feature of tne G.O.R. returns for the Pirl Land Company’s “ Totara Park” herd, at Orlnl, for the past season, Is the splendid records made by daughters of the two New Zealand record producers for all breeds, Totara G.R. Buttercup and Totara Veeman Lulu, holders of the senior three-year-old and Junior four-year-old records respectively. Two daughters of each of these ohamplons produced over 700 lb. fat last season.

Totara Veeman Lulu, who, in addition to producing 946.78 lb. fat as a Junior four-year-old, has an average production of 757.36 lb. fat for the four records made by her under C.O.R. test, is represented by her two oldest daughters, Totara K. P. Gloria and Totara K. P. Gloria 2nd. The former was tested as a senior four-year-old last season and produced 726.75 lb. fat, while Gloria 2nd was tested as a senior three-year-old and yielded 711.55 lb. fat. Both these daughters were also tested the previous season when Gloria produced 708.28 lb. fat as a Junior three-year-old, and Gloria 2nd, 541.05 lb. fat as a Junior two-year-old. Totara Veeman Lulu has only had the above two daughters, with the exception of a third born twin with a bull wliich was never reared. The excellence of Totara'Veeman Lulu and her two daughters as producers is shown by the fact that, all told, these three cows hold eight C.O.R. which average 16G70.0 lb. milk, 4.28 per cent test, 714.38 lb. fat at an average age of three years 344 days.

Daughters of Totara Buttercup. The daughters of Totara G.R. Buttercup (world renowned for her six G.O.R. which average 939.37 lb. fat), to exceed the 700 lb. mark were Totara Netherland Buttercup, the eldest daughter, who produced 764.01 lb. fat as a five-year-old cow, and Totara V.S. Buttercup, the third eldest daughter, who yielded 754.28 lb. fat as a senior three-year-old. Netherland Buttercup has two other G.O.R. 703.64 lb. fat at Junior three years, and 696.43 lb. fat at senior four years, while V. S. Buttercup produced 585.42 lb. fat at Junior two years. Totara K. P. Buttercup, the second eldest daughter of C.R. Buttercup, was also tested last season and in her first 308 days has produced 531.59 lb. fat. K. P. Buttercup is also the holder of two

other G.0.R., 608.73 lb fat at -senior two years, and 663.08 lb fat at senior three years. Totara G. U. Buttercup and her three daughters tested to date therefore have 14 records (one uncompleted) averaging 21032.2 lh. milk and 751.67 lb. Tat—an outstanding performance.
