The Adventures of Johnny and Joan.
1 * Rub-eye, the gnome, had quite a brainwave for making the old mug move. He borrowed Joan's halr-rlbbon and the ribbon from around Bone’s nock and tying these to the rocket stick lie soon had a beautiful sail. “ Now we’re off," he cried, and In a very short tlmo Biddy, the macaw, cried “Land Ahoy!" Soon they landed on a beautiful sandy beach. “Here we are," said Rub-eye, "This is the Land of Nod; I’m afraid I must leave you for a while now.” And as the little gnome uttered these words a most pocullar thing happened. His curious little hat grew biggor and bigger and his body grew smaller and smaller until—what do you think he changed Into? A snail! A real live snail!) and with a “Bye-Bye, see you later,” ho crawled away. And now Johnny, Joan, Biddy and Bone are left 6tranded on the beach of the Land of Nod. Look out for their adventures next woek, little people. PETER PAN.
