Indications are for continued fair weather to-day and probably to-morrow, with seasonwesterly winds prevailing. Eight degrees of frost were recorded this morning. The Rainfall. Rainfall lor 24 hours ended 9 o'clock this morning, .00in. Rainfall for previous 24 hours, .OOin. Rainfall for August to date, .79in. Average rainfall for August, 3.00in. Rainfall for year to date, 28.3 tin. Average yearly rainfall, 40.32in. SPECIAL FORECAST. (By Govt. Meteorologist). The special forecast by the Government Meteorologist covering the WaikatoThames Valley is as follows: Forecast: Light to moderate northerly winds prevailing, ar.i later freshening. Weather mainly fair, but cloud increasing and later scattered rain developing. Temperatures mild, seas slight to moderate. General Inference: The depressions has moved on to the South Island, but. pressure changes since yesterday slight. A deeper depression is, however, located over the south-west Tasman Sea.
