SUCCESSFUL EVENING.

ODDFELLOWS’ ANNIVERSARYMatua Waikato Rebekah Lodge No. 75 (1.0.0. F.), New Zealand, held its fortnightly meeting at the Masonic Hall, Frankton, recently. N.G. Sister D. Miller presided over a large attendance of members and visiting members. | Business was got through smartly, lodge closed, and members and friends met to celebrate the 75th anni\crsaiy of the Independent Order of Oddfellows. The hall was prettily decorated with spring flowers, and balloons and streamers in pink and green added a bright note. The orchestral stall gave a bright and pretty effect willi pink and green roses and ferns. During the evening Bro. Coulter (G.L.R.) presented to Bro. Webster, U.D.G.M, a lodge jewel in appreciation of his services to the lodge. Mr Webster suitably replied. The lodge has made good progress, with transfers and initiations, at tho last two meetings 15 candidates having been initiated into the order. Dancing was enjoyed until midnight, music being played by the Lodgo Orchestra. Sister Coulter, lodge musician, was at the piano, and extras were played by Sister Wannerford. Novelty dances were won by Miss J. Butler and partner, and Mrs Jury and partner. Bros. Webster and Coulter were M’s.C., and streamers and a balloon dance caused much amusement. The singing of “Auld Lang Syne” brought a particularly happy evening to a close. Among Hie many present were:— Mesdames W. Beckett, L. Webster, A. Henderson, E. Dalbeth, A. Mons, E. llallberg, E.
