DAIRY PRODUCE.
AUSTRALIAN PRODUCTION. NEW SOUTH WALKS SUPPLIES. Butter production in Queensland during July was better than antfei- I pated and greatly exceeded the output for that month last year, states the Monthly Summary of tho National Bank of Australasia. As ;i consequence, toLil gradings throughout the Commonwealth, for the four weeks ended July 24 amounted to 15J 3 ton-, as compared with 935 tons for the parallel period last year. Butter gradings have now pmhabtv reached the lowest level for the year but with the backward position ift Victoria the Increase this year is likely to be rather slow during August. Supplies of butter in New South Wales are much below local requirements, and as cold storage stocks are rapidly becoming depleted rather large quantities will be required from Queensland and Victoria during the next few weeks. The Australian Dairy Products Export Board lias ceased to control quantities for shipment to Great Britain, ami export butter may now tie despatched by Ihe earliest opportunity available. Until adequate rains are received over the Australian eastern States it is probable that London will maintain i very firm tendency, but •should good general rain he received it i> likely that values will tend to ease in London as Australian export quantities increase. as producing conditions are . excellent in the Dominion and flic Dominion is assured of a very promising commencement of their new export
