THF AUCKLAND MARKETS. AUCKLAND, Wednesday. A further substantial advance In the price of potatoes is the main feature of operations tn grain and produce in Auckland during the week. Potatoe-s. —-Values for whites are about £l3 10s a ton through store, while reds are selling at the high price of about £l-4 a ton. Onions.—Substantial deliveries will be made to fl 11 orders made for despatch from the ship’s side. Price-s for local -supplies are unchanged at about 16s per cwt. Fowl Wheat.—There has been no alteration in the through store quotation of from 7s 3d to 7s 5d a bushel. Maize. —Stocks of the last shipment from South Africa are selling at last week’s level of from Gs f>d to 6s 7d a bushel, through store. A steady market continues to rule. Barley.—A Arm market continues to rule for clipped Australian barley, and last week’s advance has been maintained. Current prices ' show no change, at 6-s Sd a bushel, through store, for clipped. Oats and Chaff.—The market for chaff is steadier. Values for South Island stocks are practically unaltered at about £lO 2s 6d a ton, through store. No alteration has developed in the position for oats during the week, and through store rates are maintained at 5s 3d a bushel on a steady market. Bran and Pollard. —A slight falling off In the demand for Australian pollard has been noticeable during the past week. Prices range from £lO 10s to £ll a ton, through store. The value fixed by the Wheat Committee is unchanged at £7 a ton. A fairly steady demand exists for bran at the unaltered level of about £G 15s a ton, through store.
