POINT-TO-POINT.
FIXTURE AT PUTARURU. RESULTS OF EVENTS. (Special to Times.) PUTARURU, Tuesday. The first point-to-point races to be held in the Putaruru district, at Lichfield Crossing, proved a great success. Many visitors were present from surrounding districts —Cambridge, Morriiisville, Rotorua, Te Awamutu and Matamata. The racing was held on the property of Messrs Cox and Purchase, "The Crossing.” Beautiful weather prevailed. The following were the results of the various events:— Members’ Heavy-weight—N. Brown’s Alntree 1, H. Alloway’s Matanuku Mick 2. Members’ Light-weight Steepleohase—J. McSweeney’s (Matamata) Follies’ Choice 1, A M. Collier's* Illumaid 2, C. Steele’s (Ngaruawahia) Beautiful 3. Ladies’ Steeplechase—Miss P. Corrie's Whistling Rufus 1, Miss C. Gaddes’ (Morrlnsville) Wee Jimmy 2, Miss C. Scott's Peter the Great 3. Open Steeplechase—A. Yarndley’s Magic Land 1, J. McSweeney’s Follies’ Choice 2. Local Hunter Steeplechase—H. Morrison’s Betty Boop 1, H. Alloway’s Romeo 2, J. Nicholson’s Townsman 3.
