SPRINGBOKS AT BLENHEIM. GROUND HARD AND DRY. TEAMS FOR TO-MORROW. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) BLENHEIM, Tuesday. After a smooth night trip across Cook Strait the Springboks disembarked at Picton this morning to enter upon the South Island portion of their tour In commencement of which they will meet a combined team drawn from the three Marlborough. Nelson, Golden Bay-Motueka unions at Blenheim tomorrow afternoon. Glorious weather prevails In Marlborough and unless there is an unexpected break in the present winter “drought” the Africans will have the ground Just to their liking. Yesterday afternoon when the combined team had a practice match against a second Marlborough fifteen at Lansdowne Park the players raised clouds of dust, the surface being hard and dry though combined won by 17 points to 8 under only slight pressure. Prospects are for an easy Springbok win especially with the ground conditions so favourable. The visitors this morning enjoyed a launch cruise In Queen Charlotte Sound before motoring to Blenheim at mid-day. The teams are: Springboks. Barks: Turner. Lawton. Lochner, Hester. Lvster. Craven, van de Vyver. Forwards: Martin. Lotz, Jennings, Du Toit, Ncl, Bergh, Bastard, Watt. Combined. Backs: Reid. Barton. Lunn, Jellyman. Brinsden. Kotua. Mellish. Forwards: Craig. Hippolite, R. and M Woolley. Soane, Fleet, Drummond, McDonald.
