WAGE INCREASES. HIGH PRICE FOR COAL. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. SYDNEY, August 14. Seamen and others employed in the maritime industry in New South Wales, who are covered by the Shipping, Sailors’, Deep Sea, and Colliers’ Awards, will receive increases in pay of £1 5s per month as from July 16, as a result of an order made by Mr Justice Webb in the Industrial Commission, and agreed to by the employers.

It is expected in Newcastle that some increase in the price of coal will have to be made to meet the additional costs thrown on the industry by the wages advances secured by * the miners
