The insurgents have officially protested against the continued* residence abroad of Spanish children, complaining firstly that it brands the Nationalists as persecutors of children; secondly, that hate and lies are inculcated. LONDON, Aug. 14. A message from Tunis states that an unknown submarine tried to torpedo the French steamer Paramo off Bizerta. The crews of French steamers at Tunis met and demanded protection. The Paris correspondent of the Daily Telegraph stales that two bombing aeroplanes from the Bizerta naval base arc protecting French shipping in the western Mediterranean.
