Mr W. M. Cann returned to Hamilton to-day after a holiday in Australia. Messrs K. Emmett (Wellington), C. S. Evison (Auckland) and P. S. Kirk (Te Aroha) are at the llamiltou Hotel. Thj Hev. 11. Sinclair, ef Paparoa, has been appointed by Archbishop A\erilt as \icar of Papakura. Tha position lias been vacant siuce October, when l lie Hev. \V. c. Wood resigned. Mr K. Macdonald. representing Frank Neil Productions, and Mr J. Donughue, representing J. (J. Williamson, Ltd., are m llamiltou with the Frank Neil revue company. Mr. T. A. Moodie, of Napier, who lias been appointed New Zealand superintendent lor Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Ltd., left Auckland by the Aruwa on Saturday for a six weeks* trip to Panama. Mr 11. H. Innes, formerly of Hamilton, who has been in England for 10 months as marketing research officer for tlie Primary Produets Marketing Department, returned to Auckland by the Mataroa on Saturday. He will make his headquarters in Wellington. Mr. Arthur Henderson, Labour M.P. for Kingswinford, Staffordshire, is expected to arrive at Wellington from England on August 25. Dr.ring hit stay in the Dominion he will give several public addresses under the auspices of the Youth Peace council. Mr. S. G. Owen, a former Oxford don ami grandson of an early New Zealand statesman, Mr. Henry Sewell, who led the first Ministry formed after llo* establishment •»f responsible government in 1850, arrived at Auckland on the Mataroa on Saturday. Dr. D. W. MeElwatn, of Wanganui, who went to England with a postgraduate scholarship, returned by the Mataroa on Saturday. In London lie ti ok lbs doctorate in philosophy in psychology. While abroad he served witli the Austrian Army Service Corps. Mr. J. D. Pascoe, F.R.G.S., of Christchurch. has accepted an appointment under the National Historical Committ. . . which lias been sot up to issue for ltie Centennial a series of historical surveys of the llrst too years of the Dominion's life. Mr. Pascoe is a mountaineer well known for his exploration work in Hie Southern Alps. Captain W. 11. Hartman, formerly niaiine superintendent at Wellington, for the Sliaw.
