Min. Sunday 50 30 Mean Temperature, 40 deg. The barometer reads 30.35 and has a falling tendency. Indications are fur cloudy and unsettled weather to-day I with colder temperature and | south-westerly winds prevailing. Tho Rainfall. Rainfall for 48- hours ended 0 o’clock this morning, .04in. Rainfall for previous 2-1 hours, .00in. Rainfall for August to date, .791 n. Average rainfall for August. 3.96in. Rainfall for year to date, 28.311 n. Average yearly rainfall, 46.32in. SPECIAL FORECAST. (By Govt. Meteorologist). The special forecast by the Government Meteorologist covering the WaikatoThnrnes Valley is as follows: Forecast: Light to moderate and variable winds, with south-easterlies predominating. Weather fair to tine, cold night temperatures with some sharp frosts. Seas slight to moderate. General inference: An anticyclone of considerable intensity still covers I lie eastern Tasman Sea and New Zealand. but pressure has fallen somewhat over south-eastern Australia.
