FROZEN OR CHILLED. LAMB MARKET VERY FIRM. LATEST SMITHFIELD QUOTATIONS WELLINGTON, Monday. j The market for lambs at Smlthfleld Is very firm, with slightly higher . prices for light and heavy-weights, ac- i cording to the weekly report of the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board. Consumption oontlnues to be good. j In the mutton market light-weight wethers are a shade easier. Other de- ! soriptions are steady and unchanged. Ewes are CTm, with an upward tendency. Frozen beef Is a shade easier. 1 Chilled beef hindquarters .are firmer owing to a shortage of supplies. Fores are weaker on account of the hot weather. New Zealand porker pigs are firmer, owing to the approach of the opening of the pork season. Baconer pigs are nominal and none are available on the spot.
