Essex. —Middlesex, first innings. 302 (Robins 87, Nichols took five wickets for 85) ; second, 313 for five wickets declared (Hcndren 112). Essex: First innings 156 Sims took 5 for 23); second 132 (iOwenSmith look 4 for 22;. Middlesex won by 307 runs. Sussex v. Warwick.— Sussex, first innings 237 (Cox 81, Hollies 5 for 43); second 310. Warwick: First innings 272 (Wyatt 107); second 131 (James Langridge 6 for 47). Sussex won by 164 runs. Lancashire v. Kent. —Lancashire, first Innings, 188 (AVarshbrook 83): second 220. Kent: First innings, 121 (Philllpson took 6 for 53); second 185 (Philllpson took 4 for 40). Lancashire won by 102 runs. Glamorgan v. Hampshire.—Glamorgan: First innings 310 (Turnbull 124). Hampshire: First innings 90 (Clay took 5 for 33 and E. Davies 4 for 21); followed on and made 152 (Clay took 7 for 78). Glamorgan won by an Innings and 08 runs. Somerset v. Surrey. —Somerset, first Innings, 104 (Parker took 4 for 24); second 183. Surrey: First Innings, 185 (Meyer took 4 for 24) ; second 104 for one wicket. Surrey won by nine wickets. Gloucester v. Derby. —Gloucester, first Innings, 392 (Allen 12 8, Hammond 03 —Townsend took 5 for 9). Derby, first innings, 228 (Goddard 7 for 104); followed 'em and made 80 Goddard took 5 for 41 and Slnfleld 5 for 36). Gloucester won by ail innings and 8 4 runs. Northampton v. Woroester.—Northampton, first innings, 115 (Perks 5 for 54 and Marlin 5 for 50); second 136 (Jackson took 5 for 37). Worcester, first innings, 397 (Cooper 138). Worcester won by an innings and 146 runs Yorkshire v. Scotland.—X’orkshire, first innings. 291 (Melville look S for 81). Scotland: First innings 10 A (Robinson look 4 for 10 ; followed on and made 143.. Yorkshire won by an innings and 4 4 runs. Leicester v. Nottingham.—Leicester. first innings 206 (Watkins 6 for 48 i; second, 90 for one wicket. Nottingham, first innings. 502 for eight wickets declared (Keeton 104. Hardsfaff 266). Rain stopped play. Nottingham won on the first innings. Goddard 1s the first cricketer to take 200 wickets this season. lie also captured 200 in 1935.
