CHRISTCHURCH, Saturday. Following the running of the 'Heathcote Handicap at Riccarton today, C. Shield, rider of Tiger Gain, was suspended for two months for causing interference to Big Book at the five-furlongs post.

With the Improved weather and the approach or the Pakuranga Hunt meeting there was a good deal more activity at Ellerslte this morning than has been the case since the Great Northern meeting. The No. 2 grass was In use Tor Tast work and several of the times recorded were a great Improvement on those registered for some weeks previously. The best efTorts of the morning were those of Kiltowyn. Lord Yal, Locknlt, KUonsa and King Neptune. There was also some schooling over the steeplechase course. Kelly (G. Gilchrist) opened proceedings bv running three furlongs In 39 2-ss. This horse is coming on nicely. Teddy Boy (Williams) was under a pull while traversing half-n-mtle In 57 4-ss. KUonsa (Cameron), after taking 40 l-5s for her first three furlongs, was running on solidly at the end or six furlongs In 1.20 4-ft. She will strip in good order for the Dunedin Handicap next Saturday. Captain Bruce (Nell) apd Fleetwlnd (Gilchrist) ran hair-a mile, in ft? 2-ss. They both finished well and could have done better. King Neptune (D. Green) and Glen Abb (Williams) reeled orr three rurlongs in 38 4-ss. it was the best of the morning over the distance. Palmtnt (McTavlsh) Just shaded Land Girl (Cameron) at the conclusion of live rurlongs In 1.7. They ran their first two in and It was a useful performance. Piracy (Clarke), Bronze Wings (Stokes) and Bright Idea (Kerr) were given ea«y half-miles, making 58 4 -ss. The firstnamed pair showed to most advantage. Knight of Australia.
