THAMES VALLEY SHOW.

MEETING OF COMMITTEE. COOKERY EXHIBITS. (Special to Times.) TE AROHA, Friday. Mr V. O. R. Hamilton presided last evening - at a well attended meeting or the Executive Committee of the Thames Valley Agricultural, Pastoral and Horticultural Association. A communication was received from the Te Aroha-Wallmu branch or the Women’s nivlsio nor the Fanners* Union, suggesting that all cookery exhibits for the show shall be done not later than the day herorc the show, to enable country exhibitors to compete fairly with those in the town, and thus encourage larger entries. It was decided to refer the suggestion to the ladles’ committee. Mr J. M. Cochrane, of Tauranga. wrote stating that lie would donate a silver nip to he awarded in the heavy horse section, with points for uliliiy and manners, the trophy to be won nve times at intervals, or three In succession. It was decided to write thanking Mr Cochrane Tor the trophy. Messrs 1). Burgess, A. Cdllan, V. Hamilton, O. W. Wild and the president were appointed to draw up conditions in connection with the draught horse class. The secretary. Mr K. A. Bruce, reported relative to the rurnlturc and elTects at the show shed, stating that the Domain Board was willing to allow the association use and control or them as formerly. It was decided to meet the board in order to make satisfactory arrangements as to upkeep. Dr. XV. R. Lawrence and Mr B. H. Horner, representing the St. John Ambulance and Boy Scouts, waited on tho meeting, and stated that the new hall Tor these institutions would be finished about the end of October. It was proposed to arrange a function for the opening, to include scout displays. It bad been suggested that the arrangements could be held in conjunction with the annual show, as there was a probability or tho Governor, Lord Galway, being present. It was decided to co-operate in the movement, and to send a deputation to the borough council asking for its support to the function.
