POWERS IN ARREARS. A THREAT DISREGARDED. FINAL DEMAND BY BRITAIN. United Press Assn.—Eleo. Tet. Copyright. (Received August 14, 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, August 13. Despite Lord Plymouth’s threat on August 6 none of the four great Powers has yet paid up shares In the non-intervention fund. The diplomatic correspondent of the Australian Associated Press understands that Britain will repeat her request on August 16, and will probably make a final demand If no money Is forthcoming. Ambassadors may be recalled from their holidays to consider the oommlttee’s financial position. On August 7 the secretary of the Non-intervention Committee pointed out that there was very little left in the coffers. Only Britain was not in arrears. The British Treasury was determined not to provide more money until others had paid up the arrears of current subscriptions, due on August 8. The Earl of Plymouth, chairman, pointed out that if the position were not clarified the sub-com-mittee might be called to consider the finances. Thereupon the Ambassadors announced that they would approach their Governments. They had no doubt the money would "be forthcoming. Tlie contributions amount to £IOO,000 a month. Until they are paid no money is available for the salaries of 600 international observers.
