Thursday 60 44 Friday 60 45 Mean Temperature, 52.5 dag The barometer reads 30.50 and has very little movement Indications are for fair weather to-day and to-morrow, with seasonable temperature and southerly winds prevailing. The Rainfall. Rainfall for 24 hours ended 9 o’clock this morning, .00in. Rainfall for previous 24 hours .00in. Rainfall for August to date, .75in. Average rainfall for August. 3.96in. Rainfall for year to date, 28.27 m. , , „ Average yearly rainfall, 46.32in. SPECIAL FORECAST. (By Govt. Meteorologist). The special forecast by the Government Meteorologist covering the WaikatoTliames Valley is as follows: Forecast: Moderate to strong south-easterly winds. Weather mainly fair to fine, but a few isolated showers probable. Temperatures cool. Seas rather rough to rough. •General Inference: Though a very intense anti-cyclone still covers the Dominion, the highest pressure is* over the southern portion of the South Island and conditions, therefore. favour a continuance of south-easterly winds over tlie North Island.
